Victims of slavery facing destitution because of problems in the benefits system
Parliament has launched an inquiry into the current situation where victims of slavery often end up in fear of homelessness and destitution when navigating the benefits system.

Update on legal aid review for compensation claims
In March this year, the government settled our Judicial Review which challenged its failure to give victims the legal support to bring compensation claims against their traffickers. The government told the Court that it would report by the end of June 2016. Despite our requests, however, the Ministry of Justice had still not replied to us about progress on this review over five months later.

Interviewing children training: 30 November 2016
Our expert in advocating for refugee children and victims of trafficking, Kalvir Kaur, will be delivering this training in partnership with ECPAT. The course costs £75 and aims to develop greater knowledge of best practice for interviewing children.
Implications of Brexit for victims of modern slavery
Any briefing about something as uncertain and confused as Brexit can only be a series of suggestions about the various threats and possible ways to mitigate this. There will be other consequences; some we may be able to foresee today and others that will only come into view later.
